In a Life Full of Imperfections, Is It Possible to Be Happy? Yes!
It’s easy to get caught in the trap that you’ll only be truly happy if your life is perfect. You chase your goals thinking that when you finally get married, your business succeeds, or have your dream body then happiness will automatically follow.
This was the topic of discussion with Tracey Lange on KFM Monday Motivation and I explained that being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect.
This might be an ouch or amen moment but the fact is “who wants to live with, work with, be friends with or give an opportunity to someone that’s always miserable?” If we don’t want to be burdened by someone else constantly being miserable then we shouldn’t do that to ourselves either. Choose the life that you want. Don’t let life happen to you.
Now of course I cover much more in my courses, 21 Days In Full Bloom, or workshops but here are the tips I shared to help you unlock happiness in your life.
It all starts with a decision.
Sometimes we make decisions so lightly that we forget the power of the decision. Once you decide that this is what you want to do, the filters in your mind actually open up to the options around you.
If you decide on a red car, now you see red cars everywhere. If you decide on being happy, now you start seeing articles of happiness, you start seeing a book on happiness, a TV show, a movie. And your world starts to open up. Then you can filter what you watch, what you listen to, and what you consume.
Focus on growing, increasing, and improving.
It is natural for you to grow. Since the day you were born, you have been growing and growing all the time. So if you stop learning, or stop growing, stop being teachable then you start feeling stuck and unsatisfied.
If you want to feel good again, start learning… Take up a hobby, read a book, take a course. Do something and you’ll start to see a flow of happiness in your life.
