Love is about eliminating the things that hurt you
We often think of February as a time when we show others how much we love them, but it’s also a good time to focus on your relationship with yourself.
Self-love is a crucial part of life. It’s not just about massages and pampering, but about identifying our own negative mental behaviours and recognising how they could be affecting our lives.
I encourage everyone to think about 3 beliefs that we regularly entertain, but that is dangerous to our growth as people.
- Life is hard: If you’re constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, you might be holding yourself back from wonderful opportunities.
- Good things come to those who wait: Life isn’t about waiting for opportunities to come to you, but about stepping out and going after your dreams.
- Don’t burn your bridges: So many of us maintain relationships that aren’t allowing us personal growth and it’s good for us to recognise who in our lives doesn’t deserve our energy and our time.
So this month of love, take the time to love yourself by having some of the tougher internal conversations about how your negative thoughts are stopping you from living a more joyful life.
