Have You Been Giving Your Energy Away to Others?
Have you ever come back from a holiday and still felt tired? It could be because you’ve taken care of your body, but not focused on the emotional and mental aspects of yourself.
Here are 9 questions you can ask yourself to assess whether you’re giving away too much of your energy:
- What percentage of your energy goes to pleasing your family?
- What percentage of your energy goes to pleasing others?
- What percentage of your energy goes to being pessimistic?
- How much energy do you spend on thinking about resentment?
- How much energy do you spend on negative self-judgement?
- Do you spend too much time and energy on your regret over past failures?
- How much of your energy is spent on controlling others or experiences?
- How much energy do you spend worrying?
- Finally, after all of the above, how much energy do you have left for your authentic self?
For many of us, our energy goes to all those other eight things and very little goes to our authentic self, actually doing things that cultivate the person we want to be.
Once you’ve asked yourself those 9 questions, you can start making better decisions about who and what you’re spending your energy on.
And ultimately, you can focus your mind on what you need to do to make a difference in your own life.
